A HOST of family festive fun is planned for the next few weeks in a Flintshire town.

The Mold Christmas lights switch on will take place on Tuesday, November 28.

There will be entertainment on the square from 3.30pm with performances from Mold school choirs, Mold Town Concert Band, Disney Princess Elsa, Spiderman and The Hulk. 

A Mold Town Council spokesman said: "Father Christmas will arrive at 6.25pm to turn the lights on, after which he will be speaking to the children outside his grotto.

"There will be gift & food stalls on the square from midday and at 3.30pm Theatr Clwyd will be joining us on the square to make Christmas decorations with the children. 

"There will also be a fun fair on the High Street from 3.30pm to 8pm."

Then, on December 7, the Mayor of Mold's Christmas concert is to be held in aid of Flintshire Foodbank and North Wales Superkids.

It will take place at Bethesda Chapel, starting at 7pm with performances from Cor y Pentan and the Rock Choir.  

Entrance is £5. Tickets can be obtained from Mold Town Council office, 1st Floor, Town Hall, Earl Road Mold CH7 1AB.

And Mold’s Festive Market is being held on Sunday, December 10 from 10am to 5pm with stalls throughout the High Street and on the Square. 

A spokesman for the town council added: "Throughout the day there will be entertainment on the square from Mold Town Concert Band, Northop Silver Band, the Rock Choir and Cor y Pentan and also festive character visits from film / TV including Mickey and Minnie Mouse, the Christmas Elves, The Grinch and Cindy Lou,  Buddy Elf, Olaf, Stitch and Barbie.

"Why not come have a photo taken in the Giant Snowglobe with Father Christmas!"

Father Christmas' appearance times on the day are to be confirmed and donations to meet him will go to the Mayor's charity appeal.
