A WREXHAM man was found dead by his friend after a night out drinking, an inquest opening heard.
John Rowan Roberts, of Poyser Street, Wrexham, died at an address at Pen-Y-Bryn in Wrexham on May 10, 2023.
At County Hall in Ruthin on Monday (November 13), an inquest was opened into the 47-year-old's death.
Kate Robertson, assistant coroner for North Wales East and Central, said Mr Roberts had been out drinking in Wrexham with a friend the previous evening.
He had gone back to stay the night at a friend's property but was found unresponsive the following morning. The emergency services attended but, sadly, Mr Roberts was confirmed deceased.
A provisional cause of death following a post-mortem examination held on May 15 is asphyxia due to alcohol intoxication and sleep apnea.
A full inquest has been adjourned until a later date.
