A WREXHAM mental heath charity was named as one of Wales' best at an awards ceremony.

Advance Brighter Futures (ABF) won Best Mental Health Support Service at Mental Health & Wellbeing Wales Awards 2023.

The awards ceremony was held in Cardiff and recognised the very best mental health services in Wales.

As well as winning Best Mental Health Support Service, ABF won a bronze award for ‘Best Wellbeing Service’ and ‘Inspirational Charitable Organisation’.

The Leader:

Lorrisa Roberts, ABF's chief officer, attended the awards ceremony.

She said: “We were over the moon to have been shortlisted for three awards - so to have won Best Mental Health Support Service, as well as placing bronze for the other two categories, we are truly blown away.

"It was great to attend the awards and hear from the inspirational speakers and their stories. It was a memorable day all round. We’d like to extend our thanks to the whole team at Mental Health & Wellbeing Wales Awards."

She added: "Also a huge thank you to C.A.L.L Helpline, who were the award sponsor for the Best Mental Health Support Service category. As a small, local charity, this recognition for the work we do means the world to us.

"However, what remains most important is that we can continue to make an impact by supporting people with their mental health and wellbeing, empowering and inspiring people to build resilience for a brighter future.”

Launched in Wrexham in 1992, ABF aims to ensure that no individual experiencing mental health problems ever feel like they’re on their own.
