A WREXHAM store hosted a grand reopening attended by two AFC stars after suffering a burglary.

Wrexham Trainer Revival on Lord Street, and the Casual Kids Lab, a clothing company which is located upstairs, suffered a devastating break in on October 28.

Owners Stephen Tapp, Shaun Carr and Phil Carr were crushed by the ordeal but are now delighted to be reopening so soon after due to the community's generosity.

They hosted a special opening night on Monday (November 6), which was attended by Wrexham AFC stars Jacob Mendy and Elliot Lee.

Shaun Carr said: "We have been working endlessly to get back on track after last week as they basically had every item of clothing from the kids section.

"Thanks to the support off everyone, family, friends and people I have never met we have got back on track and I thank you so much for that!"

For the grand reopening, Liam Stokes-Massey, a Wrexham-based artist, designed an Elliot Lee mural after seeing an image of the man himself taken by club photographer Rob Stead.

Liam's creative designs have been highly requested since he designed the iconic Super Paul Mullin mural featured on the exterior of Wrexham's Fat Boat restaurant which the man himself has highly praised.

Liam said: "Shaun Carr asked if I'd like to do a mural of Elliot Lee in the shop with him being a fan favourite. The club photographer Rob Stead took the amazing picture and as soon as I saw it I knew I wanted to paint it.

"It was awesome to meet Elliot Lee (and for him to see the mural!) and Jacob Mendy.

"Both absolute gentlemen and had so much time for everyone. Credits to the club!"

The store will also start selling Jacob Mendy's 'Encore' brand in the store within the next couple of weeks.

Owner Stephen Tapp said: "The lads have worked tirelessly to get back on track and open a kids section upstairs.

"It’s looking great rammed with hoodies, sweatshirts and tees all Wrexham and football related, the kids will love it.

"The support we’ve had from my customers this week has been beyond anything I could have imagined and I’ve said it so many times but I’ll say it again THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH."

North Wales Police confirmed one man had been arrested on suspicion of burglary but further enquires are pending.

After the burglary, an American couple who are huge fans of the club set up a GoFundMe page which raised an incredible £4,425 in just over one week.

The donations and support from the community has certainly contributed to the store's reopening, just in time for the Christmas period.
