A POPULAR Flintshire brass band is delighted to have been awarded second prize in this year's North Wales Rally contest.
The Royal Buckley Town Band has been awarded second prize in the Open Section of the North Wales Brass Band Rally.
The competition took place on Saturday, November 4 in Ysgol Brynhyfryd, Ruthin, and featured an array of talent and musical numbers from bands across North Wales.
Karen Fox, band secretary, said: "Our congratulations to all who took part and our thanks to the organising committee of the North Wales Brass Band Association.
"We also wanted to congratulate our soloists on their special contribution to our performance at the North Wales Brass Band Rally and thank our Music Director, Keith Jones, for choosing such inspiring music and leading us with expertise, purpose and passion."
Claiming first prize at the Open Selection contest was the Northop Silver Band conducted by Gareth Brindle and coming in third was the City of Wrexham Band conducted by Ian Johnson.
