A WOMAN was airlifted to hospital after a "concern for safety" incident at near Pontcysyllte Aqueduct.
The emergency services, including a Coastguard helicopter and air ambulance, were called to the incident early on Monday morning (November 6).
Police temporarily closed Gate Road in Froncysyllte during the incident.
A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called today at approximately 5.22am to reports of an incident on Gate Road between Froncysyllte and Trevor.
"We sent three rapid response vehicles and one emergency ambulance to the scene. We were supported by colleagues from the Wales Air Ambulance who conveyed one patient to Royal Stoke University Hospital for further treatment.”
A North Wales Police spokesperson said: "Following concerns for the safety of a woman, we attended Froncysyllte Aqueduct shortly after 5.20am this morning.
"As a result of the incident, Gate Road between Froncysyllte and Trevor was closed and a woman was taken to hospital."
