A WREXHAM AFC super-fan from New York was finally united with her Wrexham best friend after a surprise trip.
Sydney Greenberg, 12, has dreamed of the moment she would watch her favourite football team play right before her eyes, and thanks to her Dad, her wish finally came true.
Sydney and her dad, Brian, embarked on the trip of a lifetime last week to watch the Wrexham vs. Sutton United match on October 24.
During the trip, Sydney finally met her Wrexham BFF Carly Steward after months of bonding online over their love for the club.
Sydney and Brian travelled to London before making their way up to North Wales. After exploring Conwy Castle and Llangollen, Sydney and Carly were invited to do the half-time broadcast with none other than AFC commentator Mark Griffiths.
Sydney said: "We had a behind-the-scenes stadium tour, and then got to do halftime with Mark Griffiths on the broadcast! The game was an insane experience with a lot of good action.
"I really loved the Paul Mullin chant after he scored the goal in real life. The atmosphere was just amazing!"
Her dad, Brian, added: "We’ve been planning this trip for so long, and was everything we thought it would be. We always knew the girls would hit it off but when they met, it was like they had known each other forever.
This was such a pleasure! What a treat to chat to these guys! Keep an eye on them-they’re going places! https://t.co/9BiRKBT7YX

"I’ve come over to the United Kingdom for games many times, but this was incredibly special, because I got to spend it with Syd.

"I really wanted her to have an amazing experience, and it didn’t disappoint. I remember my first game experience years ago, and I know for a fact she will remember this experience for the rest of her life."
Brian had surprised Sydney with the trip after the pair fell in love with the club and city during the premiere of Disney+'s 'Welcome to Wrexham' documentary last year.
Sydney and Carly began talking on Twitter after seeing the other one in a Wrexham shirt. They bonded instantly and chat every single day.
