THE FLINTSHIRE foodbank is appealing for donations due to significant demand for service.

With a cold winter on the horizon, it is more crucial now than ever that local foodbanks are supported by residents to prevent those in need from going hungry.

In the last 12 months, the demand for service at Flintshire's Foodbank has risen by a staggering 47%, yet donations are at an all-time-low.

Sue Leake, project manager at Flintshire Foodbank, said: "We are finding that more and more people are needing help from Flintshire Foodbank.

"However, due to the cost-of-living crisis, we are receiving fewer donations than ever.

"We are grateful for all donations, but our current pressing need is for UHT semi-skimmed milk, tinned vegetables, tinned fish, tinned ready meals and tinned/packet soup."

There are several ways to show support at the bank. Donations of food items are always welcome, or residents can donate money so the volunteers can collect the items on your behalf.

Sue continues: "We are buying food to meet demand at present and we are able to do this due to the amazing generosity of the people and businesses of Flintshire.

"We are so grateful for all and any donations of in-date food or cash and we would like to express our thanks and appreciation to all donors."

Every donation is guaranteed to make a huge difference to the people unable to support themselves in the Flintshire area.
