A TOWN council in Flintshire is warning of scam Facebook posts advertising Christmas markets and other events.
Mold Town Council has issued the warning after a scam post advertising a fake Christmas market event in Leeswood.
The post advertised an event supposedly taking place at Leeswood Community Centre on the last weekend of October and in November. However, Mold Town Council said it checked with the community centre's committee who know nothing about the event.

A Mold Town Council spokesperson said: "Be aware of scam posts advertising for stall holders to attend events, if in doubt before you make payment contact the venue direct.
"The scammers are getting very clever with their posts but still one of the big giveaways is they don't allow you to comment on their posts.
"This one was advertised in another group but having checked with Leeswood Community Centre, they know nothing about the event. The author 'Hannah' has been reported to Facebook and banned. Please share to make others aware."
Scammers on Facebook will attempt to steal personal information from people and may request payments be made to them.
