A PRISONER who stabbed another inmate with a pen in a row over 'spice' has had time added to his sentence.
Leon Blears, an inmate at Wrexham's HMP Berwyn, appeared via videolink before Mold Crown Court on Friday, October 13.
The 36-year-old previously pleaded not guilty in the lower court to wounding/inflicting GBH without intent.
However, during his latest hearing, he pleaded guilty to that charge.
Catherine Elvin, prosecuting in the case, told the court that the incident in question took place on March 13 of this year.
A fight had broke out between Blears and a fellow cell-mate over the drug 'spice', the court heard.

The defendant was said to have been 'trying to rid himself' of issues he had previously had with the drug.
An argument broke out and Blears used a nearby pen to stab his cell-mate in the neck.
CCTV footage - not played in court - was said to show the other man left on the floor where he 'calmly' asked officers to remove the pen 'nib' from his neck.
However, they waited for medical assistance to arrive and help the man out.
He was said to have been left with 'blood' on his face, but his injuries were described as having been 'lesser' in court due to the quick medical help he received.
Mike Johnson, defending, said that Blears had felt he had 'needed to defend himself' during the argument.
However, the defendant concedes that he 'went beyond that'.
Recorder Simon Mills said: "It seems to me that you jump far too quickly to violence."
Blears was already serving a total of 72 months in prison since 2020 for separate robbery and assault offences, the court was told.
Recorder Mills sentenced him to 58 weeks for this GBH offence, which will be added on to his current prison time.
