YSGOL yr Hafod is set to open its doors to the community following its renovations.

Staff and Governors at Ysgol yr Hafod in Johnstown, Wrexham, are offering a warm welcome to the local community at an open event and tour of the new school on Saturday, October 21 between 10am and 1pm and Sunday, October 22 between 2pm and 4pm.

This will offer a great opportunity for the community to view firsthand the renovations and works undertaken at the former Victorian style school, allowing for the first time all school year groups to be taught on the same, modern site.

There will also be an opportunity to view the School House that was purchased and transformed into a new wrap-around childcare facility with office accommodation and meeting rooms upstairs.

Cllr David A Bithell, chair of Governors said: “We welcome the local community to see the new school and facilities.

“Staff and Governors are really proud of our new facilities where the old Victorian school frontage was retained into a seamless new 21st Century building.”

Alison Heale, headteacher, said: “We’re all extremely proud of our new school, and we’re very excited to be able to invite the community in to see the changes that have been made.
