Students and staff at the pupil referral service are holding a Macmillan Cancer Support fundraiser, with Reds tickets up for grabs!

Pupils have been involved in the planning of everything, each having a role, including running stalls, some of the baking to be available on the day and activities.

On the day, there will be cakes, a penalty shoot out, a raffle, which includes prizes of hampers, massage treatments and goalkeeping sessions, and much more.

One of the big prizes on offer are much-sought after Wrexham AFC tickets, specifically for the Wrexham AFC v Sutton United game on Tuesday, October 24. And lead singer of the Declan Swans, Michael Hett, will be on hand to help run the raffle on the day.

The event will be held at the Deva Way site in Wrexham, which supports children aged 12 to 14, on Tuesday, October 10, from 12.30pm to 2pm, and it's hoped they can beat last year's total of £413.

Ceris Walker, intervention coordinator at Stiwdio Hafod said: "A lot of our pupils have come from different schools and they've never been involved in anything like this before, never been asked for various reasons. So it's really important that we get this out there for them as well, it's great for them to be involved."

Year 1 and 2 pupils enjoyed a visit from Captain Dan Tastic as part of their autumn term topic, Land Ahoy! Tir Ahoy!

Pupils and staff enjoyed wearing their finest pirate attire, while taking part in an interactive show with Captain Dan Tastic. They learnt all about pirates, their different types of ships, the black and red Jolly Roger flags and much, more. Pupils enjoyed steering the helm and were surprised how heavy a small cannon ball was.

At the end of the show all the pupils were amazed when Captain Dan Tastic showed everyone his gigantic ruby gem treasure and were even more excited when he allowed each child to have a piece to keep at home forever.

Captain Dan Tastic, from Dan Tastic Education, was inspiring for pupils and brought their topic to life.
