READERS have shared their thoughts on a car park which customers have begun to avoid due to ticketing issues.
The Island Green car park has become infamous in recent times for people receiving fines, when in many cases, they feel they have been wrongly given one.
The issue has grown to the point where businesses say they are missing out on customers as people are too afraid to park there.
Wilko and Asda Living have both closed their stores there recently and local MS' Lesley Griffiths Ken Skates are continuing to try and address the parking issue with Euro Car Parks, who are in charge of the car park.
But, problems are persisting there, with drivers saying they are being wrongly fined due to the ticketing machine not working properly.
The car park uses automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) cameras to read number plates as cars enter and exit the car park.
However, the ticket machine has been reported several times to miss off bits of number plates, resulting in them facing a fine.
We recently shared the experiences of Anna Dempsey who received a fine for parking without a 'properly printed' ticket.
Since then, several other readers have been in touch with the Leader to tell us what they think of the situation and share their experiences.
Here is what some of them had to say ...
Dawn Taylor said: "Never been back and never will after wrongly getting a ticket, appealed straight away only to get a £90 fine two months later."
Jay Davies told us: "The council should purchase this and make it free parking from 11am, be great for Wrexham!"
Philip Griffiths said: "It will be a car park surrounded by empty units soon. Yet another poor council decision some years ago being exploited by a car park company who just want to make money."
John Vaughan said: "Places like this are killing the town. Parking should be free because there's not much there."
Michaela Lunt added: "I try my hardest not to park there, but having Smyths toys there I do have to park occasionally (disabled child so makes it easier to park there), but I always pay on my phone and screenshot it so I have proof. I have never ever been sent a fine thank goodness."
Sarah Jane wrote: "Don’t get me started on private parking companies… they are my pet hate. Their demands for payment are predatory and can have a negative impact on the mental health of people who receive them, especially in a cost of living crisis.
"Sometimes the shops can cancel the parking charge - so worth getting in touch with them to complain."

Avril Smith: "How will Wrexham ever pick up when these companies continue to operate there? So many boycott the carpark due to unfair parking tickets and the shops suffer.
"This has been going on for years. How can they continue to get away with giving out fines due to their faulty machines."
Mandy Williams said: "Use to love to shop at Island Green, but I never go now I use the Range if I want anything from Iceland and everything else I’ll go to Broughton for."
Jon Wales said: "Same happened to us. Bought ticket, got fined, sent in proof to parking company, not interested and rejected our appeal. Won’t be paying it."
Kay Burns told us: "Never been back there after wrongly given a ticket so yet another customer lost, soon they won't have any customers left."
