A WREXHAM family is stranded in Bulgaria after a child suffered serious injuries in an e-scooter accident.
Thea Williams and her three children, from Caia Park, had travelled to eastern Bulgaria for a beach resort holiday.
However, this turned into a nightmare when last week, Thea's 12-year-old son, Kion, fell off an e-scooter.
Kion was rushed to hospital - having suffered a bleed on the brain and a fractured skull.
Explaining the moment it happened, Thea said: "I heard his screams from up the road, someone said the bang was like the sound of someone hitting a punch bag. I ran over to him, he was surrounded by loads of people. I was informed Kion had a seizure and swallowed his tongue - he was screaming in pain.
"We were rushed to hospital where Kion was scanned and sustained a bleed to the brain, a fractured skull and severe concussion. I can still hear his screams now, it was horrifying."

Thea said Kion will remain in hospital for a month and won't be able to fly home. He will have to be transported home by road in an ambulance.
"The Bulgarian travel insurance will not cover this - he’s not stable enough to travel anywhere yet so we have no date on where we are coming home.
"I’ve never been so scared and stressed in all my life."
An online fundraiser has been launched to help Thea cover the cost of Kion's eventual journey home. It has so far raised £2,700 and can be found at https://bit.ly/3LLFL6V.
Thea added: "It's absolutely amazing to know there’s such support around us.
"Some people slate Caia Park and Wrexham but you realise how much of a good community it is when things like this happen and people come together.
"Me and the three kids couldn’t be any more grateful for the donations, support messages and phone calls - we are overwhelmed."
