A FIREWORKS event in Wrexham has been cancelled due to "issues beyond the control" of the organisers.
The inaugural Wrexham Fireworks Spectacular took place last November to high acclaim - with thousands of people attending at the Rock the Park site in Holt.
The 30-minute display included lights and lasers which was set to music, and there was live music throughout the event.
However, Rock the Park Ltd, which runs the event, has announced that this year's Fireworks Spectacular on November 4 won't be going ahead.

In a statement issued over the weekend, the company said: "We are absolutely gutted to say this year's event has been unfortunately cancelled. Due to issues beyond the control of the event, we have no choice but to cancel the event.
"Those of you who have already purchased tickets, you do not need to do anything. Your tickets will automatically be refunded your ticket provider within 30 days. You don't need to apply, email or do anything else.
"Your ticket provider will do this for you and your money refunded automatically."
It added: "We would like to apologise for any inconvenience and really hope we can stage this event again next year at a new site. Thank you for your support. We are just as gutted as you."
