A FLINTSHIRE pub landlady is calling for a specialist men's mental health unit in North Wales.
Lynda Leigh, landlady of the George & Dragon in Flint, recently lost her best friend.
She has said that in her profession, she sees lots of men who are struggling with mental health issues.
Lynda, who is also a qualified counsellor, has launched a petition calling for a specialist unit for men in crisis to go to.
It can be accessed online at https://bit.ly/45aR0MY. Alternatively, Lynda has paper copies of the petition that can be signed in the pub.
"I’ve seen many, many men at the end of their tether," she said.
"I am not in any way demeaning women’s mental health but I do feel there is a lot more pressure on men to provide to protect. When they show their true feelings some feel they're classed as weak."

She added: "After losing my dear friend he has left a trail of heart break in his family and friends - we were helpless. He begged for help the previous day sat waiting eight hours for a bed to be then told come back tomorrow .
"I want a facility in Flintshire with beds where men can go in their hour of need and not be turned away. I’m sick of hearing there’s no money in the budget - get your priorities right when you're actually budgeting.
"I don’t want to hear we’re going to do this we’re going to do that - that’s every political party's rhetoric. We demand action now."
