A 46-year-old man from Flintshire has died following a road traffic collision near Broughton, police have confirmed.
Officers are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision near Broughton in Flintshire yesterday morning (Monday, September 25).
Shortly before 6:30am North Wales Police received a number of 999 calls reporting a vehicle – a white coloured BMW 118 – was just off the A55 prior to junction 36 of the westbound carriageway.
The emergency services attended and the road was closed for a number of hours, but sadly, the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
He has been identified as 46-year-old Jon Kennedy who was from the Buckley area. His next of kin and Coroner were informed.
Sergeant Emlyn Hughes of the Roads Crime Unit said: “Our thoughts are with Mr Kennedy’s family and friends at this difficult time.
“We are urging anybody who may have been travelling along the A55 around the time of the collision, or anyone who may have dash cam footage to contact us. I’d like to thank all those who have contacted us so far.
“I’d also like to thank the motoring public for their patience whilst the road was closed.”
