A MAN has been told to put his affairs "in order" before being sentenced for drugs offences at HMP Berwyn.

Jason Taylor, of Prestwich Gardens in Llay, appeared at Mold Crown Court on Friday morning.

The 52-year-old admitted two offences of conveying prohibited items into or out of the Wrexham prison - those being the substances 4F-MDMB Binaca and MDMB-4en-Pinaca, as well as 186 grams of cannabis - on June 15, 2021.

He also admitted that on June 18 the same year, he had in his possession a quantity of a class B drug, namely 4F-MDMB-Binaca and ADB-Butinica, with intent to supply it to another.

Taylor denied one offence of acquiring or possessing criminal property, which the court heard was £10,940 in cash.

David Mainstone, prosecuting, told the court the pleas were acceptable - on the caveat that the Crown Prosecution Service did not accept there was a legitimate explanation for the cash and it would form part of any subsequent Proceeds of Crime Act proceedings despite Taylor's plea.

Defending counsel Simon Rogers said the caveat was agreed.

Judge Niclas Parry stood the matter down and ordered a full pre-sentence report before sentencing Taylor.

The Leader:

He told the defendant: "I'm shaking my head at you, and you know why."

Taylor responded: "Yes sir."

"But you've pleaded guilty and you will be given significant credit for that,"  Judge Parry told him.

"I would be misleading you if I told you not to prepare yourself for a custodial sentence.

"Put your affairs in order."

Taylor will be back in the dock to be sentenced on October 26.
