A NEGLECTED and abused dog has been taken in by a Flintshire Dog Rescue and is now looking for his forever home.
Steel, a Malinois, was found in a terrible condition after being repeatedly abused, before being transferred to a local dog rescue called 'Shad's Legacy' in Flint.
Sadly, he was found on July, 29, in the North West of England staggering the streets with a noticeable wound. The finder thought he had been hit by a car and took him to the nearest vets.
The vet treated him and it soon became apparent that Steel had been hit over the head with an axe or machete. He had a deep wound across the front of his head, was severely malnourished and could barely stand on his own. There was also evidence of older abusive injuries.
Once he had had his injuries treated he was transferred to the local council pound. His microchip was registered to his breeder but sadly no owner came forward.
Shad's Legacy was asked to help him on August, 16, and since being with them he has gained weight and been under the care of their wonderful vet.

Lesley Kenton, Shad's Legacy manager, said: "Steel is still quite uncoordinated, but the vet believes this will improve over the upcoming months. He will also have another CT or MRI scan in eight weeks to monitor his progress.
"Growing in confidnece, Steel is ready to find his forever home where he can recuperate comfortably. Ideally, he would need a quiet foster home within a 60-mile radius of Mold so he can continue his vet visits and treatment."
Steel is described as a friendly and playful dog with a lot of love to give. After his terrible ordeal, the vets and workers at Shad's Legacy hope he can find his home soon.
