MORE THAN £6,000 has been raised for charity through a 60m bike ride in memory of a Deeside woman.
The family and friends of Kerry Penlington, of Connah's Quay, came together to both celebrate her life following her death in January, and raise money for mental health charity MIND.
This month (September) would have marked her 60th birthday and her brother Pete Hallows, along with the rest of the Hallows' family wanted to set up an event to raise awareness of mental health illness and collect money for MIND.
The 60km (37 mile) bike ride took place over the weekend, coming to an end on Sunday (September 9).

The 60km 'Gears and Beers' bike ride - to remember 60 years of Kerry - saw 13 participants ride from Dock Road, Connah’s Quay, along the Chester Millennium Greenway bike path to Guilden Sutton and back twice.
The fundraising page for the event has so far collected just over £6,000 (correct at time of writing).
A spokesperson for the group said: "We are very passionate about raising awareness and money to help others with mental health illness.
"The original target was to raise £5,000, however, we have surpassed that target through online donations and cash donations. We are so grateful for everyone’s support and generosity."
