A stalker who sent abusive messages to a woman and called her employers to make false allegations is to be sentenced.

Jonathan Harley, of Deeside Lane in Sealand, appeared at Mold Crown Court on Monday morning.

The 45-year-old admitted an offence of stalking involving fear of violence against Victoria Mulverhill in that he sent her numerous threatening or abusive voicemail messages and he contacted her employers - making false allegations and asking about her relationships with her colleagues.

Harley also admitted two counts of sending threatening communications; one to Stuart Banks and the other to Emma Banks.

He denied a separate charge of engaging in a controlling or coercive behaviour in an intimate relationship.

The Judge agreed to adjourn the sentence and order a pre-sentence report ahead of the sentencing hearing.

He told the defendant: "You have pleaded guilty today and that is important - it will attract credit.

"I have ordered a full pre-sentence report, but don't read anything into that.

"Custody seems to be inevitable from where I'm sitting - I'd have thought it will be uppermost in the court's mind, but all sentencing options will be open."

Harley will be back in court to be sentenced on October 10.
