A VILLAGE pub in Flintshire is reopening its doors under new ownership.
The Fox & Grapes, in Hawarden, closed last month after its previous landlord chose to step away.
On Friday evening, an update was posted on the Fox & Grapes' Facebook page from its new landlord.
He introduced himself as Patrick and confirmed he has taken over the running of the pub.
"We are painting, redecorating and cleaning at the moment," he said.
"We're looking at opening roughly towards the end of this month, if all goes to plan. Still got a lot to do."
Patrick also addressed the situation regarding whether dogs will be allowed in the pub - an issue which proved controversial under its previous landlord.
"Dogs will be allowed in one half of the restaurant," he said.
"For the first month (of being open) there will be free doggy ice cream for anyone who buys any food or drink."
Patrick said he will issue another update, with an opening date for the pub, towards the end of the month.
