A GROUP of veterans have come together to make a very welcome donation to Wrexham Foodbank.
Wrexham branch representatives from the Royal Naval Association (RNA) visited the city's foodbank recently to drop off the 18 bags of groceries donated by branch members, and receive a brief from the Trussell Trust staff on the work of the foodbanks.
Wrexham treasurer and social secretary, Eric Holmwood, said: "We saw an advert from the foodbank saying they were desperately short on certain items, and it was suggested we collect for them.

"Within a week or so, we got the 18 bags of shopping donated to us by branch members, and our distant members donated money for items to be bought and included.
"Staff at the site on our visit showed us how it all works and explained how people can use them, it was really interesting.
"I'm glad we could help people, we were overjoyed because we try to make a difference wherever we go.
"We are now proposing a collection for the Wrexham Foodbank for Christmas."
