POLICE are warning residents about two 'suspicious' men who were seen dropping items into people's gardens in a Flintshire village last week.

The pair were said to be carrying red 'Royal Mail' style bags along with them on Somerford Road in Broughton.

They were reportedly looking at properties and placing items into residents' gardens - including a toy gnome.

North Wales Police say the bizarre incidents took place on the morning of Friday, September 1.

They are now asking residents to help them identify one of the men pictured below, as well as porived any information which may help them. 

Posting on the NWP Community Alerts page, PCSO Tiffany Davis of the NWP South Flintshire team said: "North Wales Police received a report of two males walking around in the area of Somerford Road, Broughton on Friday morning (1st September).

PCSO Davis added: "The males were behaving in a suspicious manner, looking at properties and throwing/placing items into resident's front gardens (one such item being a small soft toy gnome).

"They were carrying red 'royal mail' style shoulder bags, and one of the males was said to have a Birmingham accent.

"If anyone else has seen anything, experienced this themselves or can identify the male from the attached photo (above), we would advise you to contact police and come forward with any information that could assist our enquiries into this matter.

"If you see any suspicious activity in your street please contact police on 101/999 or via the NWP website."
