The 73rd annual Burton & Rossett Horticultural Society Flower Show went ahead this weekend, demonstrating the prize winners' growing skills.
The show was held at Darland High School in Rossett, and trophies were awarded to the best exhibitors in each section which included high standards of flowers, vegetables, craft, cookery, and junior sections.
The impressive entries saw giant vegetables, and BRHS members were particularly impressed with this year's flower displays.
Show secretary Fiona Morris organised the event, which begins in January to sort categories, have Show Committee meetings, and organise volunteers.
She said: “I’m really surprised with the standard of the produce, especially the flowers this year and the vegetables and I think we were just fingers crossed the weather was kept away so that loads of people would come for the dog show as well.
“It's been quite busy so we’re happy and I think it's nice to see the children that have entered.”

The show also has a personal connection to Fiona, who has always lived in the village.
She said: “I used to enter the children’s when I was about ten and I used to spend the summer holidays with my mum saying ‘have you done this yet?’ and I’d go ‘no!’ but it's nice to carry it on because its something I remember from my childhood.”
Fiona added: “I just want to thank everyone for all their help, all the committee members and BRHS members and all our sponsors for all their help.”

Pat Weir, the President of the BRHS also praised the "good quality entries" despite the weather this year.
She said: "This year we had a lot of children's entries, which we're very pleased with because it means the parents (come) and see."
She added: "It's just trying to get the progression of the generations through, both on the showing side and on the viewing side."
The BRHS offers memberships and holds events throughout the year, and are looking for new members to join.
