LONDON Classic Theatre has announced a full cast and creative team for a new tour of Brian Friel’s masterpiece 'Faith Healer' coming to Theatr Clwyd next month.
Michael Cabo, artistic director of London Classic Theatre, said: "I’ve wanted to direct Faith Healer for many years. It’s such a wonderful, complex piece of writing, with beautifully realised characters and Brian Friel’s remarkable use of language.
"It draws you in, surprises, intrigues and, ultimately, takes your breath away. I’m working on the show with my long-term collaborator, set and costume designer Bek Palmer, and I’m very excited about her vision for the play.
"We have assembled a cast of three extraordinary actors, with whom I’m delighted to be working.
"Faith Healer is one of the great plays of the twentieth century, arguably Friel’s masterpiece and I can’t wait for us to bring it to life in 2023.”
Faith Healer is widely believed to be Friel’s masterpiece. The story takes place in the 1950s, when an ‘itinerant Irish faith-healer’ Francis Hardy, his mistress and his manager are travelling around small villages in Wales and Scotland with his faith healing show.

The story is told through a series of monologues, from each character’s point of view. Some dark and hard truths emerge from their storytelling that leads us to a thrilling conclusion.
The performance will be performed at Theatr Clwyd from Thursday 12 to Saturday 16 September in Theatr Mix.
Tickets are from £10. Booking available at Theatr Clwyd’s website or by calling 01352 344101.
