A COUPLE who fled Ukraine have launched a homemade food business based in Wrexham.
Nataliia Shkurpit and her husband Yaroslav Zhuravel have launched the brand 'Ukrainian Smakolyki' creating comforting dishes and recipes from Ukraine.
She moved to Wrexham alone in May 2022 and was welcomed in by John and Judy Fernee based in Gresford.
She was joined by her husband later that year, through the Ukrainian Sponsorship Scheme.
The delicious menu offers everything from dumplings to cakes, and a new favourite sweet roll with mascarpone whipped cream and hints of lemon and blueberry for the sweet tooth lovers.
Nataliia said: "I used to make these dishes to order in my homeland so I want to offer them here as well.
"We started it in May and now have regular customers."
Items can be collected from Coedpoeth or delivered to the Wrexham area by arrangement. Everything is made by Nataliia in her home which she has rented with her husband since January this year.
