A SUMMER carnival in Wrexham in memory of a local woman is returning this weekend.
The Johnstown Carnival will take place at Hoel Kenyon playing field this Sunday (August 27) from 12pm until 9pm.
It returns on the back of the success of last year's event - which was held in memory Denise Caldecot - a popular member of the Johnstown community who died suddenly four years ago.
Kelly Bellis is one of the main organisers of the event.
She said: "This year's carnival has grown again - we have a variety of craft stalls, glitter tattoos and hair and face painting. We also have The Sun Inn from Rhos providing the bar and burgers."
There will also be a cocktail bar, various hot food vendors as well as a funfair.
Live music will be on throughout the day on the stage, which has been sponsored by Rhos Community Council.

The popular 'Tug of war' competition returns - with teams of six to compete.
There is no parking available at this event as it is held in a residential area.
Proceeds of the event are going towards two good causes. They will be split between the family of 12-year-old Morgan Jones who was recently diagnosed with a tumour in his leg, and the Welsh Air Ambulance - in memory of local man Lee Pemberton who tragically died in a road traffic collision last year.
Kelly added: "Hopefully this will be a wonderful, enjoyable day for the whole community and surrounding areas - we just need to hope the weather holds out now.
"As always the day is organised and run by Denise’s Army - a team of volunteers who got together following the sad and sudden passing of Denise.
"She was always helping people if she could and this event is held in her memory."
