Rotaract was originally founded in the US in 1968, and came to the UK and Ireland in the early 1970s. There are currently nearly 203.3k members in 11,000 Rotaract teams across 180 countries worldwide and members will be welcome to visit anyone of them on their holidays.
The purpose of Rotaract (Rotary Action) is to provide an opportunity for people to have fun with like-minded people, to have the chance to volunteer in the local community, to learn new soft skills that will assist them in personal development, to address the physical and social needs of their communities and to promote better relations between all people worldwide through a framework of friendship and service.

The Wrexham Bucklers name harks back to the 14th and 15th centuries when Bucklers in the Wrexham and Ruabon area made small round hand defensive shields for the King's bodyguards and they would have been well known to Henry VIII. Now, they are people who have come together as a group of individuals aged 18 to 55(ish), who want to make a positive impact on society who believe in the power of unity and collaboration to bring about change.
Members come from all backgrounds, ages, beliefs and religions and aim to reflect the community. Fully diverse, so anyone of good character is welcome to contact them to find out more about Wrexham Bucklers and what it has to offer.
