A MIXTURE of dry spells and showers is predicted this week across North Wales after a weekend of mostly sunshine.

The Met Office is forecasting mostly fine weather with a few showers in Flintshire and Wrexham. 

A Met Office spokesperson said: "Showers are possible this afternoon in the Wrexham area, largely in the west, although most places are staying rather dry. The maximum temperature is reaching 23°C.

"It is staying dry for many overnight with clear spells. Patchy low cloud and fog forming through the early hours with minimum temperatures of 13°C."

"Tuesday, August 22, will be a largely dry day with cloudy periods interspersed sunnier spells. The small chance of isolated shower, especially in the north. Feeling warm in the sunshine and light winds. Maximum temperature 22 °C.

"Largely fine on Wednesday but an increasing chance of showers later."

Showers are predicted to become widespread on Thursday and Friday with some locally heavy downpours. It will be warm with generally light winds.
