POLICE officers in Wrexham received 60 reports in a day earlier this week.

Inspector Luke Hughes said that the calls were made between 7am on Wednesday (August 16) and 7am on Thursday (August 17).

Inspector Hughes added that, of the 60 incidents reported, eight of them were immediate attendance events (blue light runs).

And the quickest response time to one of those was one minute and 10 seconds.

24 of the cases were 'priority incidents', meaning that police attended them within the hour.

Speaking in his latest crime update issued on Thursday (August 17), Inspector Hughes said: "Between 7am on the 16th August and 7am on the 17th August a total of 60 incidents were reported in Wrexham City District."

"24 were priority incidents, which means attendance within the hour. 7 were delayed attendance which would suggest allocation and slow time follow up. Everything else reported appears to be incidents for other agencies or departments."
