TWO PEOPLE were taken to hospital after a collision on a residential street in a Flintshire town. 

Emergency services were called to Muirfield Road in Buckley at about 1.30pm on Thursday

Police blocked off the road following the incident - which involved what a North Wales Police spokesperson described as a motorbike and a car. 

Scottish Power engineers who were working near to the scene of the incident told The Leader that a car had collided with two children on E-scooters. 

An air ambulance landed near the scene, and subsequently airlifted a patient to Alder Hey Children's Hospital in Liverpool. Another was taken by road to Wrexham Maelor Hospital.

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called today (August 17) at 1.29pm to reports of an incident on Muirfield Road, Buckley. We sent two emergency ambulances, one Cymru high acuity response unit and a duty operations manager to the scene, where we were supported by the Wales Air Ambulance.

"One person was taken by road to Wrexham Maelor Hospital and another person was taken by air to Alder Hey for further treatment.”

A North Wales Police spokesperson said on Thursday afternoon: "We received a call at 1.37pm reporting a collision involving a motorbike and a car on Muirfield Road, Buckley.

"Officers are in attendance alongside colleagues from Welsh Ambulance Service and the road has been closed whilst the incident is dealt with."

A Welsh Air Ambulance spokesperson added: "“A critical care team attended by air and arrived on scene at 2.04pm. Our involvement concluded at 4.14pm.”
