A DRUNK man who continued causing issues despite being ejected from a Mold pub has been fined for his behaviour.

Alexander Butters, of Halkyn, appeared at Mold Magistrates Court on Thursday.

The 36-year-old admitted that on July 31, in a public place, he was guilty whilst drunk of disorderly behaviour.

Rachael Drew, prosecuting, told the court that shortly before 4pm on the day of the offence, staff at the Red Lion Pub in Mold called North Wales Police to report an "intoxicated male" at the premises.

He had blood on him, Ms Drew said, and was heard to say: "It's going to go off in Mold tonight."

Butters was ejected from the Wrexham Road pub, but returned and caused further issues.

Police officers arrived to find him "squaring up" to another customer in the beer garden.

The defendant was "angry and aggressive" even after his arrest.

Ms Drew said the offence put Butters in breach of a conditional discharge.

Ceri Lewis, defending, told the court her client had just been given new medication by his GP and had consumed about four pints.

"The next thing he remembers is waking up in Llay," she explained.

"He has now realised that those medications don't mix with alcohol.

"He wishes to apologise profusely to everyone concerned."

Deputy District Judge Paul Conlon told the defendant: "This was a disturbance ongoing on a Monday afternoon in a Mold pub.

The Leader:

"You should have taken the advice when you were ejected."

The Judge handed down fines of £120 for breaching the conditional discharge and £80 for being drunk and disorderly.

Butters must also pay £85 costs and a £32 victim surcharge.
