HOUSE PRICES dropped in both Flintshire and Wrexham in the latest round of figures.
House prices dropped by 1.2% in Flintshire and 0.9% in Wrexham during June, the new figures show.
But the drop does not reverse the longer-term trend, which has seen property prices in the area grow by 3.1% in Flintshire over the last year.
Property prices in the Wrexham area have sufferred a 0.2% annual decline, the data added.
The average Flintshire house price in June was £214,226, Land Registry figures show – a 1.2% decrease on May.
In Wrexham, that figure was £201,131 – a 0.9% decrease on May.
Over the last year, the average sale price of property in Flintshire rose by £6,300 – putting the area eighth among Wales’s 22 local authorities with price data for annual growth.
The average sale price in Wrexham fell by £330 – putting the area 17th on the same list.

First steps on the property ladder
First-time buyers in Flintshire spent an average of £179,700 on their property – £5,000 more than a year ago, and £42,300 more than in June 2018.
By comparison, former owner-occupiers paid £240,900 on average in June – 34.1% more than first-time buyers.
Meanwhile, first-time buyers in Wrexham spent an average of £174,360 on their property – £740 less than a year ago, but £38,370 more than in June 2018.
By comparison, former owner-occupiers paid £230,870 on average in June – 32.4% more than first-time buyers.
Property types
Owners of detached houses saw the biggest fall in property prices in Flintshire in June – they dropped 1.4% in price, to £302,891 on average. But over the last year, prices rose by 3.4%.
Owners of detached houses saw the biggest fall in property prices in Wrexham in June – they dropped 1.1% in price, to £295,691 on average. But over the last year, prices rose by 0.3%.
How do property prices in Flintshire and Wrexham compare?
Buyers paid roughly the same as the average price in Wales (£213,000) in June for a property in Flintshire.
Buyers paid 5.8% less than the average price in Wales (£213,000) in June for a property in Wrexham.
Across Wales, property prices are low compared to those across the UK, where the average cost is £288,000.
