THE POPULAR school uniform recycling scheme will return to Mold this week following an 'amazing response' to a call for donations.

Councillor Teresa Carberry initially launched the appeal for unwanted school uniforms, along with unused rucksacks, in July 2020.

More than 1,000 items of clothing, bags and shoes were donated that year before being given out free of charge to parents.

The upcoming stall this week follows a recent collection which took place last month organised by Cllr Carberry which saw residents donate school uniform following the end of the academic year.

It will be taking place inside the Daniel Owen Centre on Wednesday (August 16) between 10am—2pm.

And, as always, all uniforms will be available free of charge.

A statement from Mold Town Council ahead of the event read: "THANK YOU to everyone who has kindly donated items to the School Uniform appeal, the response has been amazing.

"If you can make a small donation all monies will be used to buy school equipment such as pens, maths sets and calculators, but don't worry if you can't, uniforms are free for all those who need.

"Please note we can not guarantee that we will have all sizes for all schools as the stock that we have has been generously donated by those that no longer need it."
