A MAN has landed himself with a hefty fine after throwing a single punch on a night out.
Paul Griffiths, of Englefield Road in Greenfield, appeared at Wrexham Magistrates Court on Monday.
The 42-year-old admitted that on July 25, in Chester Street in Wrexham, he assaulted an unknown male by beating him.
Prosecutor Justin Espie told the court that no victim had been prepared to come forward in relation to the assault - but that it had been captured on CCTV.

In the footage, Mr Espie explained, Griffiths could be seen in an "agitated" state in the area of the Long Pull pub at around 10pm.
He was "being pulled back" by a man who was with him, but shortly after that he punched a male who was standing outside the pub.
The altercation continued for a short time but ended when the defendant was pulled away again.
Alun Williams, defending, said his client "is not a drinker" but had been on a night out.
"He had consumed far too much alcohol," he said.

Mr Williams explained the defendant had been walking outside the Long Pull when he engaged in a "verbal discussion" with a female, who pointed to another male.
"For some inexplicable reason," he continued, "he walks to the male and swings a fairly unsophisticated punch.
"It seems to clip him on the side of the head, knocking his hat to the floor.
"He works in the steel industry and shows genuine remorse at his actions."
Mr Williams said the actions of the defendant's friend, seen on CCTV pulling him away from the altercation, were "commendable."
The Magistrates handed Griffiths a £768 fine, as well as ordering him to pay a £307 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
