EMERGENCY services are at the scene of an 'incident' on the A55 in Flintshire.
Traffic Wales confirmed that an 'incident' was occurring in the eastbound carriageway at J33A near Northop.
Heavy traffic has built in the area as a result, with emergency services at the scene.
The eastbound carriageway has been closed as a result of the incident.
Just after 5pm, Traffic Wales said the road is expected to be closed for the 'next couple of hours'. They also advised motorists to avoid the area.

Due to the nature of the incident there is now a full closure eastbound while recovery is taking place.

A spokesperson said: "Incident alert. A55 Lane 1 J33A Northop eastbound. Congestion has started to build in the area. Emergency services on scene."

North Wales Police confirmed officers were in attendance and motorists were being diverted from J33 on the A55.
The Welsh Ambulance Service confirmed they were in attendance, but could not provide any further details.
The road reopened just before 8pm.
