A SECTION of a park in Wrexham has been closed off after dog food found laced in poison was discovered there.
Rhosddu councillor Marc Jones has said the top of Price’s Lane park has been cordoned off by the council after the discovery last night.
He said: "At least one dog is seriously ill as a result of this stupidity. It’s believed it was an attempt to kill badgers who have a sett nearby.
"The police are investigating and nearby CCTV is being checked as badgers are a protected species.
"The council’s Streetscene Team have collected the uneaten dog food but there may be some stray pieces still left so please take care up there if you have dogs or children."
