JACOB Mendy was the man who scored Wrexham's first English Football League (EFL) goal in 15 years on Saturday (August 5).
Having won the National League last season, the anticipation and the optimism for the Reds' League Two opener v MK Dons was sky-high.
However, Phil Parkinson's side fell short on the day, being defeated 5-3 by their opponents who proved to be too strong.
It was a reality check for the Wrexham stars who had been tipped by many as favourites to go up as champions again come the end of the season.
Despite the disappointing result, the day itself was historic for the club as it ended their 15 years of absence from the EFL.

Further strikes from Jordan Davies and Anthony Forde were nothing but a consolation for Wrexham on the day as MK Dons walked away victorious.
Up next for the Reds is an EFL Cup match against Wigan Athletic at the Racecourse on Tuesday evening (August 8).
