A WREXHAM man who carried out repeated sexual assaults on an underaged child has been handed a jail sentence.
Julian Vasile, 34, of Stanley Street in Wrexham was not present as he was sentenced at Caernarfon Crown Court on Thursday, August 3.
He was previously convicted - again in his absence - via a trial on July 14 of five counts of sexual assault of a child by touching.
Elen Owen, prosecuting, told the court that Vasile is currently the subject of a warrant as it is believed that he has fled back to his native country of Romania.

Ms Owen stated that four of the offences related to Vasile touching his victim sexually while both were clothed.
The most serious offence however related to the defendant touching the complainant under her clothing - something which happened on one occasion.
The complainant in the case subsequently reported the assaults to a teacher and her mother following encouragement from friends, the court heard.
Vasile was arrested and during interview in November 2020, denied all allegations against him.
Nick Williams, defending, said that Vasile was a man of 'previous good character'.
He added that the defendant had become 'distressed' by delays in the case and that it had 'all got too much for him', adding that this was possibly why he had fled to Romania.
Mr Williams said he had had 'no contact' with his client since he was convicted.
Judge Nicola Saffman sentenced Vasile to a total jail term of four years.
An indefinite restraining order was put in place to protect the complainant and a Sexual Harm Prevention Order was made for a period of 10 years, preventing Vasile from having contact with or living with any girl under the age of 16.
Turning to the complainant in the case, Judge Saffman said she was 'impressed by the resilience' shown by them to come forward.
