NATIONAL Lottery funding has been secured to support people affected by dementia.
Pentre Gwyn Older Peoples' Group, based in Wrexham, has been awarded £29,790 by The National Lottery Community Fund to turn a successful locally based pilot project, Memories, into a substantial service to people of all ages who are affected by dementia.
With this financial support, Memories is able to reach out to support more people and their families for a further two years.
The National Lottery Community Fund supports communities recovering and rebuilding from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Organisations can apply for funding to deliver new or existing activities, or change and adapt to new and future challenges, including the current cost of living crisis.
Rosemary Williams and Pat Williams, from Pentre Gwyn Older People’s Group, said: “Thank you, National Lottery, for believing in Memories, who will continue to connect people in meaningful and creative ways.
"The philosophy is – ‘Dementia doesn't define the person’ and ‘Working together achieves success’.”
