ROB MCELHENNEY says he has been left feeling 'humbled' by Wrexham's pre-season tour of the USA.

The Reds began with a 5-0 defeat to Chelsea in North Carolina, before beating LA Galaxy II 4-0 in Los Angeles.

Earlier this morning (July 26), they made it two wins out of three by beating a youthful Manchester United side 3-1 in San Diego.

Goals from Elliot Lee, Aaron Hayden and Sam Dalby ensured the win for the League Two club over their Premier League opponents.

But, it was an impressive victory that was sadly overshadowed by an injury to star man Paul Mullin early on, who suffered a punctured lung during a collision with United keeper Nathan Bishop.

Wrexham AFC co-chairman Rob attended the match alongside wife Kaitlin Olson.

The 'It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia' star spoke to MUTV ahead of the match, both about Wrexham and the impact of football in the USA.

Rob said: “The most important thing here is that everyone gets ready for the season and that we continue to grow the exposure of both clubs - although you guys don’t need it as much as we do.

"We seem to have struck a nerve and I think what we are seeing in the US right now is a massive wave of interest due to, I think in a very small part, our documentary but also due to so many other factors.

"Obviously one of the greatest football players, if not the greatest of all time (Lionel Messi), joining an MLS team (Inter Miami) has had a lot to do with it. I think we are now starting to see it spread all across the US.

"We are just so humbled by this entire experience. From the moment we landed, it took us about four hours to drive from Los Angeles and we sat in traffic, I wasn't sure what to expect.

"But wow, this is just an incredible experience to see thousands of people here. They are all wearing red so we can't be sure who they support."

Rob also guessed at a 3-2 win for Wrexham - and he wasn't far off with that prediction as the Reds won 3-1.
