IT WAS a double celebration for students at a Flintshire specialist high school, as they marked the end of year with two proms.
Earlier this month, sixth form pupils of Ysgol Maes Hyfryd Specialist High School, in Flint, were treated to a night of fun times, food and excitement at their leavers' prom. Five school leavers were joined by their friends and teachers to give them a send off to remember.
Assistant headteacher Matthew Wynne said: "The event was held at the RiverDee Centre in Flint and the night was a roaring success. The staff and pupils were treated wonderfully by Ben and his enthusiastic and supportive team at the RiverDee Centre and without their hard work the night would not have been the great time that it most definitely was.

"At Ysgol Maes Hyfryd we thought 'why have one great night, when indeed you can have two?', and the following week, there was a ''different time, same place' prom for the Key Stage 4 pupils too.
"Both nights began with a feast of all the pupils' favourite food and developed into an evening of very enthusiastic dancing, with the odd break for selfies, ice creams, chocolate fountains, and at the leavers' prom, the presentation of prom king and queen to Dylan and Georgina.
"The night marked the end of a great year at Ysgol Maes Hyfryd and the end of their time at Maes Hyfryd for not only the prom king and queen but also for Lucy, Alex, Rachel and Lailah. A great send off was given, one that will hopefully live long in their memories.
"The pupils and staff at Maes Hyfryd wish the leavers all the very best in the adventures that lie ahead."
