A WREXHAM runner will mark her 450th consecutive half marathon in style next week as she attempts to reach 500, breaking a Guinness World Record.
Helen Ryvar, from Llay, is running to raise money for Mind following the tragic sudden death of her ex-husband in 2020, just before the lockdown hit the UK.
She began running or walking short distances every day and by February 2021 embarked on a 28-day challenge to run a half marathon every day.
On Monday, July, 25, Helen will be completing her 450th half marathon with a special run that everyone is invited to.
The 42-year-old will start at Morrisons Local Llay at midnight with head torches and glowsticks!
She said: "I'm hoping to get as many people running as possible. There is no entry fee and I'll lead the run. There will also be others who know the route but the more the better.
"I check in at Morrisons Llay almost every morning, and get a photo with the best headline usually to prove the date I ran.
"Sunday will mark the 450th half marathon. I've been running every single day since May 1, 2022 to raise money for Mind.
"I last held a social half to celebrate my Day 400 where I had a few people join me, now I’ve reached my next milestone I’ll be doing another fun run but this time, a midnight run with glow sticks for added fun!"
Helen is pushing to reach 500 runs as she has won a place on a charity challenge sponsored by Venari Partners to trek across Petra and continue to raise money for her chosen charity with eight other people in October this year.

Helen said: "I’m feeling fitter than I did at 20, having a goal gives me a focus, and doing this for Mind charity means so much to me since I lost my ex husband to mental health issues three years ago.
"My streak has inspired so many people across the world, the power of consistency is immense. It feels good to be able to help others with my love of running. My next party will be on the 12th September, my final day 500!"
