A TEAM of 13 hikers from Wrexham have raised more than £6,000 for a hospice via a gruelling challenge.
The group, who work together at Clwyd Compounders Ltd and are part of the walking group ‘Clwyd Climbers’, conquered the national Three Peaks Challenge recently.
They did so to raise funds for Hope House, a hospice which supports seriously ill children in Shropshire, Cheshire, Powys and North Wales.
One of the hikers, Chris Davies, said: “This is the first time any of us have tackled a challenge this big.
“We felt strongly that we should do this to raise money for Hope House. Most of us are parents and it’s a cause that’s very close to us.”

The challenge saw the group tackle a 23-mile hike up and down Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon which they completed in a record time of 22 hours and 30 minutes.
Chris added: “It warms our hearts that we can raise money for such a great charity.
“The feeling is just fantastic being able to do our bit and present a cheque that will help local children and families.
“We all agree that this is the start of something and we want to do even more in the future and continue to raise money to help the children.”
