Parents have been urged to make sure they know where their children are and what they are up to.
The call comes from Wrexham Inspector Rob Stevenson following work between North Wales Police and partners to tackle youth anti-social behaviour in the city centre.
Insp Stevenson said: "For three months now, we have been taking firmer action regarding anti-social behaviour in the city centre involving youths.
"We are working with the Youth Justice Service to keep these young people out of the criminal justice system.
"But where they refuse to engage, or have now stepped into criminality - whether that be assaults, thefts or criminal damage - we are taking positive action."
Insp Stevenson explained that the centre of Wrexham did have some hotspots for youth disorder - including the bus station.
One incident at the bus station in April saw Insp Luke Hughes issue a call to parents, encouraging them to be "professionally curious" if their children were going out "into town."

But Insp Stevenson said following the partnership work over recent months, there have been "far fewer reports" of such behaviour - which he welcomed.
"This is a plea to parents," the Inspector continued, "who have a responsibility to know where their children are, what they're up to and the consequences.
"We will do our best to work with them and youth justice to keep them out of the criminal justice system but where necessary we will take action and put them before the courts."
