MENTION the name Paul Mullin to almost anyone these days - and I reckon most will know exactly who you're talking about.

For the lovable scouser has become the poster boy for all things Wrexham AFC since joining the club from Cambridge United in the summer of 2021.

That was following the takeover of the Reds by actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney - in a move which eventually helped put both Wrexham and the likes of Mullin in particular on the map.

The prolific forward was key last season, notching up 46 goals in 51 appearances as the north Wales club ended 15 years of heartbreak to return to the English Football League.

And that level of accuracy in front of goal has placed the 28-year-old among some of the biggest names in world football in terms of his goalscoring feats.

A further 28 goals in 21/22 for Wrexham and 34 for Cambridge United the season before, places Mullin on a remarkable 108 goals over the last three years.

Mullin's stats have been checked on the Transfermarkt website.

Arguably, the two most important goals of them all came in a 3-1 win over Boreham Wood in April as Wrexham sealed promotion to the EFL, as well as the National League title.

A list shared to Twitter by @Vartatico shows exactly where those 108 goals place Mullin among some of the world's household names in the goalscoring department.

Wrexham's star man is sixth in the list, but is incredibly ahead of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, who are now, sadly, heading towards the end of their record-breaking careers.

Only Robert Lewandowski (Bayern Munich), Kylian Mbappe (PSG), Erling Haaland (Manchester City), Harry Kane (Spurs) and Karim Benzema (Real Madrid) are ahead of Mullin on the list.

That makes for great reading for Mullin and indeed Wrexham fans too as they will be hoping he can continue his great goalscoring record in League Two next season.
