A WREXHAM business has opened up on how the star owners of their local football club have helped them gain worldwide exposure.

It's no secret that several Wrexham-based businesses and individuals have benefitted alongside the takeover which landed at Wrexham AFC in early 2021.

Actors Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds have enjoyed great success as co-chairmen since then, taking Wrexham back to the English Football League for the first time in 15 years.

And that level of success has certainly rubbed off on the local community too.

The hugely-successful Welcome to Wrexham documentary lifted the lid on all things Wrexham last year and shone a spotlight on its businesses and people.

One of those to have benefitted from the show and the takeover is Wrexham Lager.

Although already very successful before those things happened, winning a number of awards, the list of successes has certainly grown further recently for the firm.

And the Wrexham Lager team has put at least some part of that down to the influence of Wrexham AFC's star owners.

The team took to social media to write; "Last October, Wrexham Lager were delighted to welcome Wrexham AFC Co-chairman Rob McElhenney and his family to Wrexham Lager and proudly take them on a tour of our Brewery.

"Thanks to Rob and all the hard work done at Wrexham AFC, our brand and lager has received huge exposure to new customers all over the world, especially the USA.

"Later today, we will show you where our Wrexham Lager bottles have now reached in America, and somewhere we’re sure Rob will know very well!"

They were of course talking about Philadelphia, Rob's hometown, which is among those places that Wrexham Lager is currently being enjoyed over in the USA.

Earlier this year, a Canadian family posed for a picture with their Wrexham Lager merchandise.

Other countries where purchases of the business' goods have been made include as far away as Australia and New Zealand.

As well as that, Wrexham Lager is also currently being sold in five-hundred major retailers, shops, off licences and independent stores throughout Wales.
