A WREXHAM man who was caught with cannabis after police raided his home claimed he was using it to 'self-medicate', a court heard.
Gary Jones, of Bryn Hafod, appeared at Wrexham Magistrates Court on Monday morning.
The 38-year-old admitted that on February 16 this year, he had in his possession 38 grams of cannabis.
Justin Espie, prosecuting, told the court that on the day of the offence, police had executed a search warrant at the defendant's home address.
Officers recovered cannabis worth £200 to £250, an amount consistent with personal use.

Euros Jones, defending, told the court his client has anxiety and depression, adding: "He is under the care of the mental health team and at the time he was self-medicating, to try and get over this.
"He is a music technology student who is married with three children and he knows he has to stop smoking cannabis.
"He is doing that now with assistance."
The court handed down a fine of £80 and ordered the defendant to pay a victim surcharge of £32, as well as £85 costs.
