A WREXHAM primary school says it is "extremely proud" of its positive Estyn inspection report.
Ysgol Penygelli in Coedpoeth was visited by the education inspectorate Estyn during May.
The report describes the many strengths across the school and particularly pupils’ “exemplary behaviour” and the strong partnership between the school and parents, achieved through the hard work of pupils, staff and governors.
It states: “Teachers plan a broad range of stimulating learning activities and there are good opportunities for pupils to develop their curiosity of the world around them.”
“Provision for pupils’ care, support and guidance, particularly those with additional learning needs, is strong.”
The report adds: “Parents speak highly of the commitment leaders and staff show in supporting them and their children’s learning.”
Ysgol Penygelli provides “a caring, thoughtful, happy and secure environment for pupils, the report states.

Interim headteacher, Sean Wade, said “I am delighted that the report highlights the good progress our pupils make in their reading, creative and physical skills and that we provide an inclusive and welcoming environment for all. While we still have things to work on and improve further, the recommendations in the report give us a clear path to becoming the very best school that we can be.”
Councillor Phil Wynn, Lead Member for Education, expressed his delight with the many strengths highlighted by the report and for “the good opportunities for pupils to become active citizens and have an impact on their local community.”
Councillor Anthony Wedlake, chair of governors at the school, said: “We have a lot to celebrate moving forward, Estyn’s report has highlighted the good progress made by our pupils across many areas of our engaging and high quality curriculum, our pupil’s exemplary behaviour and the strong relationships between pupils and staff.
"We still have a few spaces available both in our amazing nursery and across other year groups so please come and have a look around, meet our amazing children and join the Penygelli family.”
